How it works
The code holds your cash.app link: cash.app/$yourname, or cash.app/$yourname/25 with an amount. Scanning it with a phone camera opens your pay page in Cash App, or on the Cash App website if the app is not installed.
The payment happens there, between your customer and you. We are not part of it, we never see it, and we take nothing.
Why not use the code inside Cash App?
Cash App shows a QR code on your profile, and it works. This one is made for print: a high-resolution PNG or SVG, a “Pay with Cash App” label so people know what it is for, and an amount filled in when the price is fixed.
Where sellers put it
- A stand on the counter, beside the till
- The tip jar
- The front of a market table
- Invoices and receipts
- The back of a business card
Before you print
Scan the code yourself and send a small test payment. Check that the name that comes up is yours. A $Cashtag typed wrong sends money to somebody else, and a printed code cannot be corrected.
The code keeps working for as long as your $Cashtag stays the same. If you change it, print new codes.
Selling more than one thing?
A fixed amount works for one price. For a menu or a table of products, a page does the adding up: customers pick what they want, see the total with tax, and Cash App opens with that exact amount. Venmo, PayPal and Zelle can sit beside it.
